Alexa was left with her grandmother because of her mother's chronic drug abuse and her father's incarceration. When her grandmother became unable to care for her, Alexa was taken into foster care. Her CASA volunteer ensured she was placed as quickly as possible into a safe, loving, and permanent home with other relatives.

National CASA and Georgia CASA standards include a volunteer to supervisor ratio that produces effective advocacy.  This ensures that the children we represent receive the support and attention they deserve. Currently, metro Atlanta is serving less than 33% of the children in DFCS custody. In order to acheive our goal of dramatically increasing the number of children in metro Atlanta that have a CASA volunteer advocating on their behalf, we rely on the generosity of people like you.

One way to get involved with the CASA program and make a difference is by making a tax-deductible donation and know that you are helping a child right here in our Atlanta community.

For every extra month a child stays in foster care it costs society $3500
The cost to supervise a volunteer for one year is $1070
1 Supervisor = 30 Volunteers = 90 Children Served
