![]() In conjunction with the Atlanta Braves and WSB-TV (Channel 2, Atlanta), a 30-second PSA to promote the CASA organization in Georgia was filmed by Tim Hudson, a starting pitcher for the Atlanta Braves, at Turner Field in the spring. The PSA will air periodically on WSB-TV and on the 'big screen' at the Atlanta Braves game on Saturday, August 14 as part of 'CASA Day' at the game. To watch the PSA, please click here.
Hewitt Associates Contributes Gifts for Metro Area CASA Children and Youth

For the fourth consecutive year, employees of Hewitt Associates in Atlanta gave holiday gifts to over 40 CASA children and youth in the metro Atlanta area. Hewitt employees were so generous in giving that each child received multiple gifts, based on wish lists each child submitted. The Metro Atlanta CASA Collaborative extends its appreciation to Hewitt for the company's involvement with CASA and the community.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() CASA staff, board members and volunteers of the Metro Atlanta CASA programs took part in the CASA awareness and volunteer appreciation event at the Braves game in Atlanta. The day included a CASA exhibit booth, 50/50 raffle with proceeds benefitting CASA and the Atlanta Braves Foundation, and an on-field presentation to CASA.

Metro Atlanta CASA Collaborative Participates at Jack and Jill of America's Southeastern Annual Work Day in Atlanta

![]() Jack and Jill of America, which held its annual Southeastern regional work day in Atlanta, requested a CASA spokesperson to talk about the CASA volunteer opportunity as the group works to inform its members, African-American mothers, about ways to get involved with their communities through volunteering. Becky Galbreath (pictured), on staff with Clayton County CASA, spoke to the group of about 300 women. Becky, along with other CASA representatives, staffed a CASA exhibit booth as part of the work day. The opportunity provided women from all over the Southeast to learn more about CASA, so the awareness of CASA went well beyond the metro Atlanta area.
Harland Clarke Company in Decatur Donates Gifts for Metro Atlanta CASA Children

![]() William "Ollie" Ligon, with Fulton County CASA, won an overflowing tote bag of school supplies, toys and clothing & hygiene necessities from Harland Clarke. The company's Decatur office held a United Way kick-off luncheon on September 11th and CASA was invited to exhibit as one of the nonprofit organizations that benefits from United Way funding. Each nonprofit organization in attendance received gifts. Ollie Ligon won the gifts for Fulton County CASA from a raffle drawing among the five Metro Atlanta CASA Collaborative programs.

In July, each of the firm’s offices held a Jeans Day to benefit CASA. Employees who donated $5 could wear jeans to work on a designated Friday and those participating were given a CASA sticker to wear, further increasing CASA awareness within the firm. All proceeds from Jeans Day, which raised more than $4,800 firm-wide, went to benefit the local CASA programs of each of the firm’s offices, with the money raised in the Adds Sara Pheasant: “Public service has always played a significant role at Sutherland and we are thrilled to support CASA and our employees in any way possible. Whether it is educating our employees about public service opportunities, raising money for the causes they support, holding training sessions at our offices or giving them time off to volunteer, we hope to encourage the continuation of the public service tradition valued by our firm.”
